Stress da maturità? Ecco come affrontarla al meglio

Un aiuto importante per preparare il corpo e la mente alle prove d’esame arriva dall’ alimentazione. Secondo recenti ricerche, pare che il ferro e lo zinco siano elementi preziosi per dare all’organismo la forza e la lucidità necessari ad affrontare il periodo di intenso studio. Via libera allora a cereali, legumi, pasta, carne rossa, frutta, e una pausa dolce al giorno, senza esagerare, per ricaricare il cervello.

Non esagerare con il caffè, servirà solo a non far chiudere occhio e mettere ancora più agitazione, meglio invece bere succhi di frutta, tisane rilassanti e fare pausa ogni volta che lo studio risente della stanchezza. È consigliabile cercare di mangiare sempre alla stessa ora ed evitare di andare a letto troppo tardi. Ci devono essere ore di applicazione e concentrazione seguite da momenti di rilassamento e attività fisica.

Insieme allo stress, l’ansia è l’altra fonte di nervosismo nel periodo di intenso studio che precede gli esami di maturità. Alla paura di sbagliare, si somma la consapevolezza di affrontare una prova di passaggio che implica la fine di un periodo della vita e l’inizio di un altro, senza dimenticare il timore di deludere le aspettative dei genitori. L’ansia, in realtà, non è un fattore del tutto negativo, perché se ben canalizzata, può diventare uno stimolo a far bene e meglio, a dare la carica per avere il massimo dei risultati. L’importante è non lasciarsi contagiare dall’ansia altrui. Se un compagno è molto ansioso e non si riesce a tranquillizzare meglio allontanarsi. Aiutano di più i compagni che riescono a scherzare.

Se ci si sente invadere dall’ansia tre respiri profondi e lenti di tanto in tanto sono di aiuto. Aiuta anche immaginare scene piacevoli e rilassanti e la consapevolezza di avere studiato e di essere preparati.

Altri consigli utili riguardano il metodo di studio. Si deve mirare all’essenziale e ai concetti portanti. Per questo servono riassunti, sintesi, esposizioni orali con un ascoltatore che segnala eventuali confusioni o incomprensioni. Lo studio a memoria, tipo pappagallo, in genere non premia, sotto l’effetto dell’ansia si può dimenticare tutto. Meglio capire i concetti, cogliere il senso di ciò che si studia e fare dei collegamenti tra le diverse tematiche, le parole arriveranno di conseguenza.

E se a fine giornata non si riesce a dormire? Immaginate di svuotare la mente di pensieri e preoccupazioni con immagini positive, tipo bei paesaggi, bella musica. Sostituite un pensiero con un altro. Ripetetevi la predizione che andrà tutto bene. Meglio però evitare di ricorrere all’aiuto dei sonniferi. Una camomilla, una tisana, della musica rilassante possono aiutare. E se si è avuta l’accortezza di fare attività fisica, per esempio jogging o nuoto, sarà la stanchezza fisica a conciliare il sonno.

Maturare non solamente significa buttarsi a capofitto sui libri per poter superare nel più adatto dei modi l’esame della quinta superiore, ma anche cercare il modo di affrontare con maggiore saggezza uno dei “momenti della verità” più importanti dei propri primi decenni di esistenza.
