Pro e contro del caffè. Ricerche a confronto.

Secondo il cardiologo Sebastiano Marra, del Maria Pia Hospital di Torino “Quattro o cinque tazzine di caffè al giorno, anche decaffeinato, riducono la mortalità cardiovascolare in follow up che vanno da 10 a 18 anni. A lungo termine, bere caffè ha un effetto positivo”.

Secondo il cardiologo il caffè è da considerarsi così ricco di antiossidanti, da meritare il primo posto tra tutti gli alimenti in natura.
“Esistono dati su oltre 10mila individui che rivelano che chi assume caffè, su lungo periodo, ha meno ansia, dorme meglio, non ha la pressione più alta rispetto a chi non lo beve. Uno studio francese che ha analizzato oltre 200mila persone, su un periodo di 8-10 anni, riferisce dati positivi sulla mortalità. I dati piemontesi confermano che chi beve caffè ha un umore migliore, meno ansia, riposa meglio, non ha pressione o colesterolo più alti”.

Queste affermazioni vengono in occasione dell’imminente evento delle XXIX Giornate Cardiologiche Torinesi “Advances in Cardiac Arrhythmias and Great innovations in Cardiology”, del 27 e 28 ottobre.

E’ giusto però ricordare anche le tante ricerche effettuate sul caffè, che invece informano sui “contro” di questo alimento. E’ vero che la caffeina ci aiuta a stare svegli, ci stimola il sistema nervoso centrale provocando maggiore attenzione ed efficienza muscolare. E’ vero però che nel caffè troviamo anche sostanze che danneggiano il sistema nervoso e il sistema vascolare, come anche gli organi digestivi. E’ perciò sconsigliabile l’uso per chi soffra di stitichezza, gastrite, ulcera, enterite, colite; come è sconsigliabile ai cardiopatici, ai nevrotici, agli artritici, arteriosclerotici, a chi soffre di malattie renali ipertensive e a chi abbia patologie che interessano la prostata e la vescica.

 

Infine, da ricerche effettuate su donne in gravidanza, sembra certo che la caffeina assunta dalla mamma, entra nel cervello del feto, provocando effetti ancora in fase di studio.
