Sport mentre siamo agitati o arrabbiati? E’ rischioso?

Gli scienziati dell’Health Research Institute della McMaster University avvertono che l’esercizio fisico in condizioni di eccessiva agitazione potrebbe triplicare il rischio di un attacco di cuore nel giro di un’ora.

Gli esperti canadesi hanno eseguito il più grande studio sulla correlazione tra rabbia e sport, fornendo una prova scientifica del delicato legame tra mente e corpo.

L’associazione risulta ancora più forte quando sia l’emozione che l’attività sono molto pesanti, si arriva addirittura a triplicare il rischio di infarto.

I risultati sono stati trovati grazie all’analisi delle informazioni relative a 12.461 pazienti infartuati provenienti da 52 Paesi, con un’età media di 58 anni, che avevano completato un questionario sul tipo di sensazioni che avevano sperimentato nell’ora precedente al verificarsi dell’attacco di cuore.

Il 14% (1.650 persone) era impegnato in attività fisica, mentre un ulteriore 14% (1.752 persone) risultava mentalmente sconvolto.

Andrew Smyth, autore principale dello studio, spiega che gli stimoli estremi, sia emotivi che fisici, hanno effetti simili sul corpo, possono aumentare la pressione sanguigna e la frequenza cardiaca, modificare il flusso di sangue attraverso i vasi e ridurne l’apporto al cuore.

L’attività fisica regolare ha molti benefici per la salute, compresa la prevenzione di malattie cardiache, quindi vogliamo che le persone continuino a eseguirla, tuttavia, si consiglia di astenersi quando si è molto arrabbiati o emotivamente troppo turbati. Meglio prima effettuare esercizi mentali e fisici per smorzare la tensione e favorire il rilassamento. Stretching, tecniche di rilassamento mentale, meditazione, relax, favoriscono la predisposizione dell’organismo, prima dell’attività fisica. Meglio praticare lo sport nel giusto modo, con lo spirito libero dagli stress, e non fare l’errore di utilizzarlo come sfogo, esasperando lo sforzo fisico, specie dopo una certa età.
